Does anyone know which insurers include student cover (ie for a student that ives with you but is away term-time at uni and needs cover for their belongings), and/or covers you if you have a lodger (something we are thinking of doing in the next year).
Many thanks

Aviva through a local broker (Avoid Swintons) will cover this, I'm not sure if they offer it if you go direct, no harm in asking their direct arm.
Be aware that your child's contents at Uni with Insurers who offer the extension will normally be subject to their being signs of a violent and / or forcible entry / exit for theft cover.
You may find the same exclusion will apply to your own home if you take on Lodgers.
It's designed to cover proper break ins rather than housemates or lodgers just helping themselves to your stuff0
