GB Energy switch fail

I just noticed since I switched to GB Energy 3 months ago, I'm still being billed by my previous provider SSE, aren't they supposed to cancel the direct debit/standing orders on my behalf?
I contacted them, so I'll update here when I hear back.

So I called the help line last Friday, had to wait 20 minutes to get someone on the line. they told me that my electricity had not been switched over from SSE. managed to get a refund and a discount to make up for the double payments.
Called back this morning and had to wait 25 minutes to get through, only to be told that their system was down and to call back in an hour.
Called back an hour later, had to wait 30 minutes to get through, and they said it should be switched in 3 days, so I'll call back then to confirm.
