Hi there,
My 6 months tennancy agreement is up I have been living on my own. My partner want to move in with me and landlady got agency to go through tennancy checks for me and my partner. My partner has really bad credit score due to unpaid debts credit cards phone bills. He started paying them back very recently but we think he will fail it. I am able to pay the rent and bills myself as I done that for last 6 months, but I am worry that if my partner fails i will have to move out . I have few questions:
Would credit check show unpaid debts?
Can I be a guarantor for him?
If I can't be guarantor could my partner be 'permitted occupier'?
Is it better to tell the agent at front that he has unpaid debts?
I appreciate your advise
Thank you
Joanna

Unpaid debts will only show if they have progressed to the stage of CCJ.0

Landlords are not providing credit, and so cannot perform a traditional credit check.
All their checks reveal are matters of public record, e.g. CCJs and Bankruptcys.0 -
My landlady asked estate agency to do credit check, is that still the case?
