Tesco PayQwik rollout

Annoyingly Tesco Bank does not currently support Android Pay therefore PayQwik seems a reasonable option since I want my clubcard points!

Does anyone know the rollout date for the rest of the UK (already active in London and Edinburgh)

I think all we know is that Payqwiq is to be rolled out to all stores by the end of 2016. That's not very far off. But if Scan as you Shop is any indication, don't hold your breath.

Anything which encourages shoppers to get their mobile phones out anywhere near a supermarket check-out is best avoided. That way they will concentrate on the task at hand rather than chatting away on it.

I work for Tesco and the store I'm in doesn't have it yet.

The Extra store at Ilkeston has a newer NCR scanner (self-service) and I tried it the other week. It didn't process.

However I've been in London today with the older NCR scanner AND despite it being supported in the Covent Garden Metro store PayQwik wouldn't work for me-followed the prompts on the screen but wouldn't scan my phone.

So am going to carry on using Apple Pay.
