Your attorneys are legally required to follow your instructions, the fact that the OPG have registered your LPA means they accept that your instructions as legally valid. To change your instructions you will need to apply again for a new LPA and pay the fee again.

If you lose mental capacity and go into care your assets will still be required to go towards that cost of care regardless of your wishes.

Its correct that you will still have to pay for your care but if you don't have enough in savings to pay for it and you have lost mental capacity, your attorneys will have to apply to the court of protection in order to be able to sell your house. This will cost a lot more than making an registering a new LPA.
