Buying - questions about solictor

We are in the process of buying a house and are getting close to the point of exchange. I don't think either parties solicitor has been particularly efficient as we have just received the property information pack which the seller filled in on 15 Sep! And also just received the queries raised by our solicitor on 11 October.
We are not that bothered as we are not in a rush, however I was confused as the seller indicated on the above correspondence that a bunch of docs were enclosed, things like electricity + gas certificate, warranty on windows etc. However we have not been provided with the copies, instead our solicitor has indicated we will only get to see these on completion, is that normal?
I guess its his job to check and make sure he is happy we have received everything however I am sure in previous purchases we received these ahead of the time?

Have you asked to see them? It's not as if you're not allowed to see them, maybe your solicitor just doesn't think it worthwhile copying them to you at this stage as most buyers don't want to peruse the documents themselves.0

I did ask why they were no enclosed and he said I would get them after completion...I guess we are quite hands on and like to know everything as we are spending a lot of money on the new house so want to be sure! Maybe we need to be more trusting..!0

If you want to see copies then ask. It's your file, you're entitled to see everything that's going on, but sorting through a bundle of old paperwork to figure out what's relevant and then scanning it takes time...0

Your solicitor may have recieved these a while back, but they do tend to check the information and use if for search information checks prior to sending it out. I doubt it has been sat on their desk doing nothing for weeks.
definitely request the information - you are more than entitled to see it.0 -

It's fine to ask. I suspect that they have the original ones and don't want to send them out until completion in case the sale falls though and they don't get them back.
If you are local to your solicitor you could ask to call in to see them, or if not, if you want, ask for photocopies or scans now.All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
I would of thought they were part of the final report? We have all ours just waiting on exchange date x0
