Tesco Bank - "currently receiving a large volume of calls"

"...and as a result you may receive a longer than normal wait time."

Par for the course. But not at 06:43am on a Sunday bleeding morning?!?:mad::mad:

Only called them up because I received a fraud message (and have confirmed that the number is genuine).

Maybe one call on a Sunday morning is a larger volume than usual.

Perhaps only one person to receive calls and he/she gone to the loo.

Most recorded messages say this even if the wait time is not long.

Presumably you're not the only one to receive this fraud message and the 1000's of hacked people are all trying to call Tesco.

    Edit
    Arginall's link confirms

I think I'd be venting about a large scale Tesco bank hack rather than how long they're taking to answer the phone!

Also, try not to give the customer service agents too much of a hard time. It won't be their fault in any way, shape or form and they will be highly stressed with dealing with a large number of often irate customers. If you want the best level of customer service I suggest a nice approach :)

I can imagine taking the call right now *shudders*

    "Hi, you're through to tes...."

"YOU'VE KEPT ME ON HOLD FOR 45 MINUTES AND I'M OUTRAGED"

    *sigh*
