I was looking at this but LIDL give very little away!

It will certainly be more than just the FREEVIEW channels. I guess it will include all the free satellite channels that are available on whatever satellite you point it at.

You should look on the digitalspy forums about this. There is usually a thread about the latest Lidl sat offers and what they are capable of.

Be sure not to mix up the analogue and digital offerings from Lidl

    From a quick search:

but usually there are a heck of a lot more replys debating the pros and cons

I get the Lidl emails. This link will take you to the satellite page:

Anyone know if it would pick up Portuguese channels? I have no idea about satellite stuff!! Would you need to keep pointing it around the sky to various satellites depending on the country you want to pick up?

a bit off topic, but to amd:

tinned tuna would not classify as 'brain food' because the processing takes out most of the fat, which means the omega-3 essential fatty acids are removed. To get brain food you need proper oily fish, mackeral, untinned tuna etc.

    Surfcat,

It's a quote from Marge Simpson! Must change my sig to credit her!

Thanks for interesting info. My kids love tuna sandwiches for lunchbox, better change to something else - they need all the help they can get!;)

edit: Marge's logic may be right tho.... how much Omega3 in dolphin??:p

I bought one last year and it was good while it lasted. Unfortunately it blew up literally just before christmas. Lidl could only offer a refund, after returning it to the store and waiting 2 weeks for a cheque. Their authorised repairer was not answering the phone, and not responding to e-mail - in fact the e-mail box was full. Eventually he responded after 8 weeks and offered to replace the reciever - however this was 8 weeks too late as I'd already bought another one. This is the response I got when I told him this -
    Dear Sir,

There are always customers like you no matter what we do we could never fulfil your requests.

I pride my self in the service I give and give a service to lidl customers which I believe is far better than there competition.

But there will always be customers like yourself who will always complain and no matter what we do to help will always continue to complain expecting something for nothing.

Thank god I am an independent service.

My advice is get a proper one like a Technomate, Humax etc. If you're in the south of the UK a Sky minidish should work fine - mine is perfect!

Most free to air channels are German, then italian, some spanish, french and greek - if you want English - forget it.

Installation very easy - if you want more advice, please ask me.

I queried this offer on this site a few days ago as I want freeview but can't get it due to ariel probs & I'm too mean to splash out 100 quid on a new ariel. The very informative reply was that it's not freeview but free to air, this apparently means that it can't receive ch 4 & ch 5 and (I think) ITV. I realise that you want it for foreign reception so I don't know if this is of any relevance !
If you do a search on this forum for "satelite" for the post which I submited about a month ago, and ask your question there, the genius who put me in the picture will know the answer. Sorry, but my limited technical knowledge doesn't allow me to give you the post reference.

I went to Lidl this afternoon and there was only an empty pallet where I assume these kits were. If you bought one and need any advice, please feel free to ask me.
