Redundancy or Capability Dismissal.

Any advise would be great.
I have worked for my employers for 7 years, I am 58, I have arthritis and the post I now hold is the only one which is suitable for me, this post has been made redundant and my employers have offered me alternative posts which I would not be able to manage which has been confirmed by my employers OH department and so they have offered me capability dismissal.
My query is would I still get redundancy pay with a capability dismissal or would it just be my lieu of notice payment.
Thank you and hope that makes sense.

Sorry - you need to ask your employers what they mean. I would say that the two things are entirely different and that redundancy pay would not be part of a capability dismissal. But their policy may differ from others. There is no clear cut legal definition.0

From my current experience .... I am being capability dismissed as of 22/11, although my post isn't apparently redundant (I suspect that this is a cheap way of getting rid of me, but can't prove it). All I get is my paid notice which ends on the 22/11 and then I'm on my own, although I will be taking my DB pension early and have applied for ill health benefits ... not holding my breath though ... although Mrs. Sleazy would be a lot better off if I popped my clogs during the next two weeks ....0

Awe, I am sure Mrs Sleazy would rather have you than any amount of money
