Insurance claim issue

Hi,

In june i was brushed against by a taxi and had to have a dent and a front panel repaired. After filing a claim my insurance company now say its in dispute and they will contact me when a decision is made

Been waiting 6 weeks but have now treated myself to a new car and when i got it insured i went with another company as it was alot cheaper. 1 week later i have got a letter saying my NCD claim is wrong as i have been found at fault for the previous accident ( my insurance have have sent me no notification )

Any idea what i do now? my new insaurce wont be the best deal for me as they are raising my payments but havnt said by how much

thanks

Your NCB will be suspended while you have a pending claim. In the event the other driver is held 100% at fault, then your NCB will be reinstated. Otherwise, it won't - whether it's 50/50 or 100% you.

I bet they asked the usual...

I cba to check Halifax, but the Meerkat wording is...
"Have you had any motor accidents, claims or losses in the past 5 years, no matter who was at fault or if a claim was made?"
"(It is really important you tell us about all motor vehicle related accidents, claims or losses.)"

So that was a "yes", right?

It may not be quite that simple... Especially given your damage was front end.

So they never asked about previous accidents?

Just looked on the Halifax website and they do ask about your driving history. They ask about any accidents in the last five years. It's in the same section they ask about your licence.

You clearly made a false declaration tonget this insurance.

it was on the comparison websites thats why i was surprised it was cheaper going direct....and they rubbed along my bumper/panel and i have the pictures taken then to prove it so wont be a issue guess ill just have to wait until its updated

Not quite...it asked if i had claims i was found at fault and at first the other party admitted liability then tried to change it so i sent in the pictures and the accident sheet the taxi gave me at the time saying they were at fault

Ill contact my insurance company and chase it up and let the halifax know ill wait until the database is updated as the issue here is its deemed a claim while processing

    thanks all!

From Halifax webisite, though I now notice you've now claimed it was a comparison site.

You've made a false declaration and are about to pay the price.

I'd love to know which comparison site doesn't use wording very similar to the one on Halifax directly, or the one on the Meerkats which I quoted.

I think Sir may wish to revisit the exact wording...

Maybe he can give us the actual site he used?
