I just have a cheap one from B&Ms, shaped like a paw. They do I think 3 different colours, black, neutral and brown? It's not perfect but it gets the majority, especially if you are using a finer litter.

Pets at home also sell ones which are a bit bigger, I had a semi circle one from there which was quite good, and they do a big rectangle one.

I bought a gravel tray from B&Q to put the litter tray in - cost about £4.99. The tray is in the utility room so not on display, but it confines the previously scattered litter really well.

I do not believe in those carpet type mats as they simply do not work as I wanted them to.

After few bad buys, I now have 3 of those (I have 3 litter trays) for my boys - my smallest one is a proper digger, you have no idea how much he can dig out of the litter box...

Thanks ,can I ask getting ready if the litter comes out of the mat easily? I had a look at the one in pets at home which looks similar, but thought the litter may become trapped and then it would drive me mad trying to get it out!

From the ones I linked - you have to shake it out. But that is a whole point - litter goes in deep int those so cats dont track it all over
    the place

yep same as the B&M and pets at home ones, i tend to just hold mine back over the tray and shake it/curve it round, they litter just falls back out.

    I just use bath mats.

Also look at the type of litter. I use one that is pretty much like sand (it's Classy Cat or Classic Cat, something like that). But then mine aren't avid diggers. They prefer scratching on the wall outside the box :P

Haha one of mine used to do that! She'd leave the mess completely uncovered and just scrape the lid/door of the litter tray!

I'd never thought of using bath mats, that might look nicer than the little rubber mats :)

  • Mine just treat mats as either an open challenge - or as an extension of the tray _pale_.
