Hi
I am starting an open university course in January and tuition fees have been sorted. Is there a way of finding out about student loan for books etc? Every time I go onto the site, it keeps putting me back to the page for tuition fees, which has been sorted.
Thanks

I believe that at the moment OU students are not eligible for maintenance loans, although there is a plan to change that for 2018/9. However, this may be the case for English students so could be different in Scotland. I'd get in touch with SAAS and ask them.

Where did you see it might change from 2018/19? Would be helpful if it's done.0 -

Part-Time Maintenance Loans
Until now, maintenance loans have only been available for full-time students. This may have had an impact on students deciding whether to study full-time or part-time. There has been a sharp decline in part-time students since 2008. To help address this, the Government has announced that, from 2018/19, part-time students will be eligible too.
