That's a valid reason for holding onto it, fair enough. Will it be kept under cover or out in the open?Red-Squirrel wrote: »I don't know how long it will be off the road, I'm waiting to see how the new job pans out. If i don't really like it and move on within a year I don't want to have to shell out for another car when I've got one here now that's old but has proven itself to be reliable and cheap to run.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

That's good. Make sure the space is well-ventilated, though. A car locked away in a damp atmosphere will rust more quickly than one in the fresh air.Red-Squirrel wrote: »Its in a garage, detached brick built one.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

Its pretty dry in there, no damp smell, and an ancient washing machine I keep forgetting to get rid of that's still not rusty, so hopefully should be ok. I'll make sure to check on it regularly through the winter though!

If you do run the engine for 15 minutes (or until fully warmed up as advised) make sure the garage door is open to clear the exhaust fumes. Also if you are disconnecting the battery make sure you know the audio code (if you have an audio system of that type) before you disconnect.0
