Small accident with a friend Need advice

Care to present stats that show that? I suspect it is just a blanket stat that if you have a non-fault accident in general they put the premium up, rather than classify them based on situation.
Provide one statistical reason why someone sat at the traffic lights in dry weather, perfect visibility, is somehow more likely to claim because a random person wasn't paying attention and ran into the back of them.
The simple answer is that Motor Insurance is incredibly competitive in the UK.
If people with one non fault accident were as a good a risk as a customer without an accident. An Insurer would actively target them by simply not loading their premiums.
They would then attract all of the customers with a non fault accident who in theory would be as good a risk as a customer without an accident and would make money.
Insurers currently don't have the facilities to individually underwrite each risk. So if you declare a non fault accident (Most but not all) will apply a loading). They don't have time to provide an individual rate for someone who was hit from behind at traffic lights etc0 -
Hi there,
Going to keep this short, but me and my friend had a accident last night! I rear ended him, at around 5mph so i know that is is my fault. However, he didn't originally want to clam on his insurance, but he feels he needs to do it so he can get a car again. My question is, if he claims do i have to pay anything? Or will it just be my premium going up in march? I'm not wanting to claim on my insurance as ive only got light bumper damage/ wing. Nothing mechanically wrong with my car.
Hope to seek some advice Thank you
I've read and re-read this post and can't get my head around the fact that you rear ended someone at 5mph causing no damage to your car but has made your friend's car undriveable?
Call me a cynic but what condition was your friend's car before the shun t?0 -

You are asking for a practical physical reason, not a statistical one.
There is no such thing as a statistical reason, other than an observed correlation of events which may or may not have a physical explanation.
