Peterborough Station Parking

Hope this is in the right bit of the forum, couldn't see anywhere more appropriate.

I'm going to take a train from Peterborough mid next week, getting a train around 8am and arriving back same day around 11pm. Checked and it seems it is £13.50 per day at the Station Car Park, no problem as I need the convenience as will be on a tight time schedule.

Question is, I see there are 700+ spaces but it doesn't say how that is cut up between short term and long term parking.

Does anyone know if there are usually plenty of spaces available for what I want during a mid day week?

Thanks

Just get there early and you should get a space, if not you will have time to find alternative

Not sure how it is split but there would be spaces in the yellow queensgate car park if there is nothing in the station . Only a few pounds more

At 8am it will be fine. I've had to get a midday train before and, although it was very full, I have been able to find spaces every time.

Thanks Photome and F1F that is useful information. My train time is changed to just after 10 but hope that will be ok also.

I did try the Queensgate the last time I did this but foolishly went into the Blue zone (I didn't realise they had different closing times) and when I got back at 11pm it was locked up and empty and had to spend an hour locating the security guard to open up for me. The Yellow zone sounds a reasonable backup plan since I see it closed at 1130pm.

BTW is the All day car parking bit towards the right as you approach the station?

    Thanks again

Depends on which way you approach the station!! :rotfl:

Assuming you are south of the station, on Bourges Boulevard/A15 heading northbound, and turn left into station Road. You'll have the station in front of you, with Queensgate yellow on your left. At the mini roundabout in front of the station there are three exits - right is for taxis only if I remember correctly, straight on is the short stay car park (20 mins) and drop off/pick up zone. You'll want the first exit, on the left.
    Hope this makes sense!

Of course you are right, sorry about that. I don't know Peterborough at all and the only time I go there is to get a train and I thought there was only one approach from that main road with all the roundabouts that runs parallel to the train tracks (sorry don't know its name). But I understand your instructions, excellent, thanks.

You should be fine at that time but the car park is long and narrow, running alongside the track, so you'll have a few minutes walk from your car to the station entrance.

Depending on how long you will be, it may be cheaper to walk the 5 minutes from the Queensgate yellow car park at the top of the road leading to the station.
