PIP review question

Options
Hi, I recently had my PIP review assessment. Got a text message on Wednesday saying "they have all the info they need to make a decision" When i rang them today i was told a decision has been made and a letter sent out. However they couldn't tell me what the decision is because they said it hasn't been scanned onto the computer. Does this often happen? My last PIP assessment i was told my award over the phone. Just a little worried right now. Yay for the weekend...not :/

It's normal. The decision might have been made today. It's possible if you phone again on Monday that they will have the information on the screen and be able to tell you. Nothing to worry about, you just can't take it to mean anything one way or the other unfortunately.

Thank you. Appreciate your reply. I know it was a silly question but we all worry with these assessments and what the outcome will be.
  • You might also find that any back payment (if one is due, assuming your claim is successful) hits your bank account before you receive the award notice.

Not a silly question at all. So easy to assume the worst when anxious and "Are they not telling me because it's bad news?" would be the thought going through my head if I hadn't seen this question asked before and seen the same answer that I gave.

It's a review so there would be no back pay.

The bad news part is exactly what i thought and the reason why i asked the question. Thanks again!

Rang DWP this morning and they were finally able to tell me the decision. Standard care and enhanced mobility for 4 years. Higher mobility increase. Happy with this decision.

Congratulations. That must be such a relief.

When was your assessment? It sounds like it was fairly recent and it's not been 8 weeks for you to get a result that I keep reading it can take. I've got my assessment in a couple of weeks and hoping the result will be fairly quick.

Thank you. Yes it is! My assessment was last Monday afternoon. Decision was made Friday and letter sent out same day. It was a review so maybe that's why it was so quick. Must admit didn't expect it this quick. Good luck with your assessment.
