Thanks! This makes sense, I just fear when I get to the ATM it will be either empty or out of action. If I do get some cash it will be fun and games in the shops, bars and restaurants tonight.0 -
Got 19.6LE to the £ from the ATM via Revolut, cheeky machine offered dynamic currant conversation at 11.8LE, good job I'm switched on. Have just eaten like a king for £15.0

For those who want creative routings to Asia and the US, you can currently get crazy first and business class fares from Cairo/Luxor (via Doha) with Qatar Airways.
Los Angeles in business for around 800 GBP
Bangkok in First for around 1000 GBP.0 -

I bow to thee Sire, such good fortune is rare indeed in these troubled times.:)0 -
5x 50g pouches of tobacco was £16 at the duty free so i will be banging a few of those out tomorrow at work on the cancer veranda.
There was a Scouser in the queue in front of me buying well over the legal limit and the chap on the till was trying to explain that if he paid in LE it would be cheaper due to the devaluation, he was having none of it. A few hours later I saw him again stopped in Gatwick customs, he had it all in the shop see through bag! Muppet!
Great value for money, I've never experienced anything like this currency wise, got plenty left over for next year, might go back as early as February.0 -
Well it's a,ways useful to have some Egyptian currency in the unlikely event you might be staying there for longer than you originally planned.0

To add to the above posts - some banks now have suspended trading in Egyptian pounds - so my advice is not to bring any back with you as you will be stuck with them.0

Thomas cook stopped buying any back from customers about a month ago unless you had bought them from TC in the first place and you had to have your receipt.0
