Helping parents check for PPI

Hi Guys,
My parents had a joint mortgage with N+P back in 1991 and then they sold that house and had another mortgage wih N+P... around 1996/7. We have no information about the mortgages at all, the only details we are absolutely certain about are the addresses and my parents names lol...
My dad also thinks he may have had a loan and/or credit cards with N+P and Clydesdale Bank (being Scottish) - is there a way to trace any old accounts etc?
Is it worth attempting to contact N+P to see if there is anything owing?
I've seen some forms and template letters on here but they seem to date around 2006-2009 and I'm not sure if they are still valid or if there is a different proceedure / protocol now?
Can you help point me in the right direction?

There is nothing "owing".totallytech wrote: »Is it worth attempting to contact N+P to see if there is anything owing?
It is not somehow wrong to have insurance, so you'd have to complain that any insurance was mis-sold. Hard to see how you could complain in the circumstance on behalf of someone else.
1991 is now a quarter century ago, so I doubt there will be any records kept regardless.
No harm in contacting them, but don't get your hopes up because mortgage PPI is still retailed today and most complaints fail.0 -
Your option is to send a SAR and £10 to see what ifo is left.
You could phone and ask but I dont fancy your chances for a reply where they can find your accounts, but by all means try that first.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
