    We all make mistakes.
However, if you witness careless / dangerous driving you can report it to the police. They are obliged to investigate all reported crime. They do not need dash camera footage, but that could be used as evidence.

I'd also just leave it. Someone pulling out on you or overtaking you will seem minor to you once you've been driving for a while. With tailgating if you've no kids in the car just brake very slightly your lights will come on and they usually back off.

But unless you have an accident or witness one, the dash cam isn't really worth saving every video of people who overtake you.

When you say they pulled out on you, what was your reaction? Did you need to brake hard or swerve?

I remember when for my first month or so of driving my perception of distance and width was way off without my instructor next to me, ie on a road big enough to park and 2 cars to pass each other, I would pull behind the parked cars and wait.

that is no longer true, north wales police have launched operation snap where you can upload dash cam footage of bad driving

and they have prosecuted based on footage they have received

But be warned they'll also look at the standard of driving/riding and behaviour of the individual submitting the footage.

You don't think that is any sort of official website do you?
If I want to submit my dashcam footage to the police I sure as hell am not going to pay £156pa to do so.

Exactly right. The OP is a new driver and has a different perception of what is a 'near accident' or what is 'too close'. The OP's speed and position on the road might well not be perfect either.

My advice would be to forget it unless there actually is contact between vehicles.

If I was to submit footage of every example of poor or inconsiderate driving I see, I would likely have to send in a full memory card every day.

If the OP wants to change the driving habits of the UK then it would be simpler to join the Police.

The absolute best thing you can do is watch it back yourself, and think "Is there anything I could have done to prevent that developing into a near miss? What did I not see early enough? What clues did I miss?"

I had a van with a trailer and a digger on the back pull out on me slowly as I was driving down the road, then a few minutes later, a cement mixer did.
Large or slow vehicles will have to pull out in front of other vehicles at times. If they judge your speed and distance correctly its a minor inconvenience to you and not dangerous or wrong.

Have to admit it's annoying when you pull out safely, give it some welly and the driver that was 1/4 mile away before you pulled out (and who was not inconvenienced at all), STILL starts flashing their headlights and giving obscene gestures.
When it comes to joining a road, I think some people see it as though your jumping into their imaginary queue.

The worst one is when you pull out and the idiot accelerates toward the back of your car as if to say "hey look you pulled out too close!!!!", it's really easy to tell when people do this, they do it purely because they know they're poor drivers and acting as though someone else is the problem makes them feel superior.

Email the footage to the Director of the company if the van was sign written, ask if they want to pay you a sum of money for you not to upload it to youtube - remember to inform the HMRC of your newly found revenue stream!

If you cause another driver to take avoiding action (ie braking) it IS wrong. It's also stupid with the number of drivers who don't pay attention.

If people keep pulling out in front of you start putting your side lights on all the time (or fit day running lights) or change the colour of your car.
When I had a white car it happened ALL the time. Now I have a red one it happens a LOT less.
