Notifying Bank - New job?

Hi,
I was just wondering if I have to tell my current account providers/update the job details held on me upon starting a new job? I say this as I will be applying for a few new accounts due to the interest rate drops and didn't want any conflicting information appearing upon credit searches etc.
Any help regarding this matter will be much appreciated

As far as I can remember, our bank has no details of employment, just the profession from a drop down menu and a telephone number.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

You don't need to tell them. It's none of their business. The only time you should tell your bank something is if you move. Employment details are not, as yet, held against you by the CRAs.0 -
Thanks for clarifying I had a suspicion that banks didn't hold this information but just wanted to make sure.0

You've given every other bank you joined since the same information.
All the banks you have accounts with share your application information with Fraud Prevention Agencies. Any discrepancies could cause a problem.
Personally I update my banks (via my online area more often than not) whenever I change employer, and/or job title, and/or salary. I find it generates quite a lot of 'guaranteed' offers on credit cards etc, particularly with LBG.0 -
When I moved in May and changed jobs at the same time I also notified Lloyds Bank (and other credit providers).
As YorkshireBoy points out Lloyds have also generated several offers for me, too. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
