Pet insurance. Whos the worst offenders for premium increase for lifetime illness

im thinking of going with direct line or pet plan. i am concerned that the premium will be increased to a ridiculous amount if my dog is ever diagnosed with a life time illness such as diabetes or something. direct line seem to offer the better life time plan in regards to monthly cost and cover amount however will they hike up the monthly cost if my dog is found to have a life time illness. do pet plan do the same? or are they quiet good in regards with premium increase??

Petplan do not hike the premium if you claim but you will have increases due to inflation and increased running costs including overall claim costs.

However, their premiums do tend to be on the high side.

I don't know about Direct Line but Petplan do state they don't increase premiums of you claim.

Coop insurance have the same underwriters as Petplan and I believe they also state they don't increase the premiums if you claim.

I have my dog insured with Co op and she had a claim last year. The premium didn't go up when I next had to renew, apart from an increase as I had had a discount for the first year for being a new customer. I have been happy with them, they paid the vets directly and quickly.
