Having updated now to win 10, perhaps not unexpectedly a driver for my old scanner (scanjet 3570c :rotfl:) cannot be found by windows and non from HP too.
I rather like it - ok a 'bit' old hat but meets my needs
(my printer is fine but is not a scanner too) ...
so can anyone suggest anything other than loading a virtual machine with driver ( esul pointed to that a while ago) or buying a new scanner or all in one printer which I do not wish to do as I am happy wiv wot Iv got and lots of ink cartridges bought and trying to do the money saving bit.....

How about this driver - Vista vintage. It might fail installation first time, and it might suggest trying compatibility mode, or you might have to play around with it a bit. But a Vista driver might get you going...

Vue Scan works with most scanners without drivers .0

as above - read here :- http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c034795640

Thanks for those contributions.
I did try a Vista driver but that did not work. I was unsure how to tweak to get it going! Did not seem to get rid of the exclamation warning in the driver list for the scanner although it clearly identified as the hp3570
I also tried those other two suggestions that come from the hp site. Vu scan do list the scanner as compatible with their scanning software but, following enquiry, tell me that a separate driver is still required.
EMC do not list any HP scanner of similar vintage (starts at 5000 series) for their ISIS drivers.
Looks like those avenues are probably non starters but worth the try, thanks0
