Will this affect our mortgage application?

Bank statements won't be required, so unless you bank with NatWest, your account conduct won't be visible to them.
if you do, they are unlikely to have an issue with your conduct as long as you are not constantly overdrawn or have any unauthorised borrowing charges, unpaids or payday loan activity.I am a mortgage broker. We use multiple bank accounts and also bank with Halifax. Do they check bank statements or would NatWest be the better option?0

Neither has an automatic requirement for bank statements on a case as you've described.
As a newbuild/HTB specialist you've picked the two lenders we'd use as the most likely to lend to you with the least fuss.
However, you won't get the best rates from these two. Not far off, but not lowest possible for HTB Equity Loan.I am a mortgage broker. Great I feel a little better. Thanks for letting me know.0 -
Partner and I have just completed on a property with a similar situation to yours, weren't planning to apply then a home appeared a couple of weeks after booking and paying for a holiday and a heavy month of birthdays/days out.
We used Halifax and had no issues, in all honesty they seemed a little disinterested in our bank statements relative to what I was expecting at the outset.0 -

Hi
How long did Halifax take to process your full application. Mine went in on Tuesday via broker and im just anxious waiting0 -
Very quickly, couldn't have been happier with Halifax from start to finish.
Details;
10/08/16 - DIP obtained through Broker
12/08/16 - Full App submitted
16/08/16 - Valuation instructed by Halifax to be done the following day
22/08/16 - Broker contacted us to advise application was proceeding to offer
23/08/16 - Offer received in post
Just under 2 weeks from initial contact to offer, with adverse credit history. Couldn't comment on seasonality for lenders but they were very good at keeping in touch with us so you should hear how things are progressing shortly.0 -

No worries, those couple of weeks were the most stressful of my life so I can empathise with how you're feeling.
Fingers crossed for you.0 -
In case anyone was wondering about this my mortgage was approved today. I went through a broker who went with nationwide. A stressful few weeks but we got the full amount that we've asked for. And that was after spending more money the last 2 months that we earned. So if anyone was wondering about overspending a few months before applying for a mortgage then there is hope!0
