3yr restricted licence

Hi all I have a 3year restricted driving licence that's due for renewal.
I've received a copy of a response to the dvla from my medical consultant, saying seeing as they haven't seen me for a long period of time, they wouldn't like to comment on my ability to drive.
So the dvla have informed me they're going to write to my GP
But I haven't seen them for years either, if they also say they wouldn't like to comment, what would the dvla's next step be?

Why haven't you seen them in a long time?

They will probably refuse to renew your licence.
Why not make an appointment to see your GP now stating that you want a check up to confirm that you are still fit to drive.
If you haven't seen your doctor for a few years then it's possible that they will deregister you

so seeing them now could prevent both problems from happening.

    Thanks for the replies
I'll make a appointment to see my GP tomorrow.
I see a Parkinson's nurse about 3 or 4 times a year ( I don't have Parkinson's I have an other neurological disorder ) other than my condition I'm in good health so rarely see the need to bother my GP

The will probably require you to go and see you medical consultant before they will renew your licence. I too have a 3 year restricted licence, due to type 1 diabetes, and had missed my consultant appointment next wasn't for a year my renewal came through that year and I had to get an appointment before my licence was renewed
