Flight Simulator 2004

I have just loaded Flight Simulator 2004 onto my HP laptop running Win 10 and the program isn't loading.

Can anyone please advise why and how I can fix it?

How can I run it now then?

As far as I know there are no later versions

Will it not run in compatibility mode?

    Have a look at link.

  • It wasn't made for Windows 10, try aero fly 2 instead.

The last version was Flight Sim X released in 2006. You can get this from Steam amongst other places, although unless you are desperate to play, I would wait for it to be in a sale. I have seen it reduced by 75%. Advantage of the steam download is you have a limited amount of time after purchase to get a refund, so it will let you check if it works on your laptop

I have Flight Sim X and have struggled to get it going with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

I've tried Compatibility Mode and I can get it to run and play, but occasionally crashes, especially if I select options with lots of scenery detail etc.

I admit I've not looked into it properly though so maybe there's a workaround which I've not found.
