Backdated ESA

I did a search but found no info on this.
I got a letter telling me I will have my ESA paid from July and that I will get £57.90. This is the assessment rate, will the backdated payments be the assessment rate? When will I get the backdated payments and is it a lump sum? Thanks in advance.

    Little more information needed please.

When did you apply for ESA?

Have you been called for a work capability assessment? Have you been placed in a group? WRAG or Support group?

If you have recently applied for ESA and are still in the assessment phase and not been placed in a group after a WCA then your back pay will be at the assessment rate - £57.90 and yes, this will be a lump sum.

Are you on DLA or PIP? Is your ESA income based or contribution based?

Thanks, really appreciate the response. I only applied a few weeks ago, it's income related ESA. I haven't been placed in any group yet and I don't get DLA or PIP. They said they need me to send a new fit note. I guess that lump sum will come in after I send the fit note with my first ESA payment?

did you ask for it to be backdated?

do you have a fit note that covers the backdated period?
