That's reassuring to know about the water being no different "moneyistooshorttomention" Have you had any issues or surprise costs since you moved to an unadopted road?
  • Yes.

They are ones that would appear to be particular to this road and to a rather different way of thinking to how I know things to be normally. I don't think they would be applicable to you judging by what you have said here.

I'll send you a PM in case....

HJD - from you monthly payment are you then in effect protected from any big bills for road repairs etc or is it a case of if work needs to be done you have to cough up the money between you all ?
My DH and our next door neighbour are the directors. I pushed them to make sure we started a road fund for future repairs.
The agents every year produce a budget which had showed an amount being put into reserves, but the actual final accounts never included anything. Now at least we are putting money aside. The houses have been up for 8/9 years now.
A few of the residents have different ideas. Some would like a gate at the entrance to the road. Think we have scotched that one. They want their children to play in the road. Considering we all have gardens and some of the parents drive rather fast, the general opinion is that playing in the road is not to be encouraged. The other thing some people want is CCTV, but that too is expensive and needs maintenance. Luckily HML Andertons are supposed to be dealing with updating quotes etc. and have done absolutely nothing, so that one may die a death also.
