Crawley on street parking

I have a flight booked next week from Gatwick, and I wanted to know if Crawley has any on street parking with pay and display as I plan to drive there, park and catch a bus. I have a blue badge so there would be no charge. All I can find online is off street car park. CAN anyone help?

It looks to me like most controlled on street parking is for residents or for those visitors who buy a permit. There is an option for disabled badge-holding residents to get a free permit but that doesn't seem to be available for visitors.

However, there are a very few places with on street pay and display parking, but so few that you may struggle to find a space when you arrive.

Would you be better parking further out and getting a train?

Alternatively, suck it up and book offsite parking near Gatwick.

I'll second this. Having recently returned from holiday myself, I used one of the off-site parking companies recommended by this site. £27 for 10 days parking, can't complain at that ( this was Manchester, admittedly, not Gatwick ). But I think they're pretty good value really, and probably a touch safer than leaving your car on the street ?

I don't think I could ever consider dumping my car in a unfamilar town and then going on me jollies. Might save a few quid, but if your car gets broken into/damaged whilst you're away, it'll be a miserable end to your holiday.

At least putting it in an airport/offsite carpark means there'll be barriers/cctv/security, plus you get to drive straight home after a short walk or shuttle ride.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
