car insurance repair number plate mix up

Car insurer repair. I had my car in for a simple bumper touchup, number plate replacement and new badge.

Went to collect the car, and they had got the number plates wrong.
Quality checks - no working if they can't spot that the numbers didn't match.

So refused to take car, collected the next couple of days.

My question if I had driven the car, with the front plate showing 14 and the year 15; would Mr plod have been interested in the dodgy plates.

Yes. You'd have been stopped eventually.

IF you passed the attitude test you'd be okay.

When you go back, to pick up car, ask to put the car on the ramp and inspect it underneath. Check that all the bolts and fasteners have been connected/fitted.

A mate of mine, (on a massive repair to a 3 week old BMW), took the list of what they had supposed to have replaced and got them to put it in the air, and then made a list of issues, which included repair of exhaust when they were charging for replacement.
