Tesco Direct are now charging £4.85 for store collection on orders under £25

tesco are charging now cos it was a "long term" offer while the set up was made, e.g. direct, it in fact costs tesco money to order this stuff to the store & that cost can be quite high for items, if the depot isnt near the store, which it never is
but look at this way, all the deliveries are now 4.85 even if u order to ya home, this is a lot cheaper than argos & others
bear it in mind, tesco cant foot the cost for it forever, they are a PROFIT business, if ya dont like it then argos wud like ya serviceSilenced by the Gestapo :rotfl:0 -
Firstly whilst tesco is tesco to you or me
Tesco direct is seperate from tesco stores, in recent times especially on electrics etc the products in store differ from those online therefore the delivery costs as well as the costs to stores which arent covered as direct get the money need to come from somewere
Tbh it seems fair to recover those on lower cost orders were the benefit to tesco is low0 -
they can try and charge what they like the customer will decide and I for one won't pay nearly £5 ro drive myself to a store to piakc something up. Think Tescos are losing the plot now they are huge!0

thats why on a seperate issue, i go into tesco to buy an item like a daily paper for about 30p and pay with my debit card, which annoys c/s as it costs then nearly twice as much to process the payment. its my own way of getting back at them for some of their recent price hikes:rotfl:0

Do what I've done in the past (to make order up to MOV) order something in a strong colour - paint/curtains etc. open them as soon as you collect and then say they are far brighter/different colour to that on the website and ask for a refund. It means one trip instead of two!
Yes, I can see this new policy really backfiring on Tesco. This is the sort of thing that many people will be doing and it's going to be hard for Tesco to stop it. It's not as if they can refuse the refund, is it?0 -

Actually, I personally wouldn't have any qualms about doing this in Tesco. I really dislike the company and make a point of only shopping there if they make a loss on me, be it extra points, an extreme (i.e. less than cost) bargain or DTD etc. These sort of companies are NOT your friend, believe me, and if they can screw you over they will. What goes around comes around.0 -
most of tesco "screwings" come down to human error @ the checkout, if u lot stopped taking aDAVNATGE & let jsut be nice about it then they wudnt need to charge for delivery, ppl who go in there to gwt misprices & buy in bulk then get money back r evil & despeare, yes they offer a great clubcard scheme no one offers BUT it wont last if u lot use it unfairly, paying by card for 30p is stupid & greedy, the more tesco has to pay out for items, the more they gonna screw u back, tesco is PROFIT business like others, they have to make money, stop stop trying to screw them cos u "feel hard done by" for a human error, we all make mistakes in lifeSilenced by the Gestapo :rotfl:0
