Advice please - these timeshare things

So I got a call today, presumably from something I filled inwhen entering a competition (even though I tick all the 'please don't call me' boxes), and at first I got really excited because I thought I'd won a holiday. I hadn't.
It's one of those things where you get free accommodation, but you have to go to these timeshare presentations. They want me and hubby to go to one in Manchester (near where we live, but in work hours), and from what I gather they also make you go to a long presentation when you're on the holiday.
Travel not included, but it's 7 days accommodation for a family. I think this isn't bad, and I think I can withstand the sales pressure. Hubby says I'm being utterly ridiculous, and it's a scam and just ignore it.
Has anyone been on one of these? Is it worth the sales pressure? Or shall I just listen to my husband (for once!) and ignore them? Company is CLC World in case anyone has heard of them.

Ah. Just found another post about this in a different forum.
Sorry! Just ignore me. Looks like I'll give it a miss.0 -
When they phone tell them you live in a council house & are un-employed
They will put the phone down and never phone you again
If you went on one of their "free holidays" they will not let you leave the room until you sign up for a timeshare .... then when you die the contract moves on to your children, then their children, then their children, then their children.... you get my drift0 -
Eek! Thank you. Going to avoid like the plague then.0

I once worked in the offices of a timeshare company, I saw enough during the first half of my first day for me to decide to not return after my lunch break...0

Oh wow! I've had some bad jobs in bad places in my time, but none so bad as that!0
