another vote for foil. Freezes well, and peels off fairly easily.0

I heared u must put the shiny side on the inside of the food, to stop the aluminium seeping into the food.“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

You can use greaseproof paper - I used to use it all the time, using string to tie the parcel, and of course it's incredibly easy to write on the paper what is inside!
Not so good for soup, admittedly, but you could then do the old trick of freezing the soup or stock in cut-off milk cartons to get nice square blocks and then slide them out of their milk-cartons and wrap and label them once frozen.
I keep trying to think what might work in place of freezer bags because I hate single-use plastic. I keep trying to work out what might replace the amount of clingfilm, tinfoil and those rolls of cheap flimsy and incredibly handy sandwich bags that are about a quid for 250 bags... I just hate the throwing away of it all...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

You can get eco friendly reusable food coverings. Sorry don't know what they are called. Not the cheapest but obviously they last for ages.
I use any bags! Bread bags at times. I wash out all bags and use and use and use. Can't bear to think something is going to landfill to stay there for eternityDF as at 30/12/16

Hi
This probably won't help you now, but I would have open frozen them on a baking tray, then when frozen packed them in airtight container. We use washed out Marge or Ice cream containers and label the lids.0 -
Thanks for all replies. I used tin foil this time.0

I use the bags out of cereal boxes0
