Just a queries folks.
If I was to receive 10 emails that people had sent me at the same time. How would it show in my inbox? Order on which they go through cyber space, alphabetical etc.
There is no seconds showing on the time so each email would have the same time eg. 12.03pm
Thanks

It depends on what you're using to view the emails, and how that is set to show the order. (e.g. it could be set by date/time, sender, subject, etc.)0

Just because you can't see the full time, doesn't mean it isn't there.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
Thanks.
I am being told the emails are in alphabetical order yet the reason of the emails are requests for something that is based on first come first serve so it has thrown everything in the air as they have arrived at same time and gone into alpthabetical order..
Im assuming the setup is already viewed by time.
Im not so sure this is the case as the email servers can only deal with one email at a time although at lightening speed so only one email can drop into the inbox and any one time and therefore should not be alphabetical.0 -

On the server they are "sorted" by time of arrival. How it's shown in your email client depends on how you sort in there. To change the sorting, click on the column header to sort by that column.0 -
Just looked at mine. It shows as 02/11/2016 14:39 but click on properties - details it shows 02/11/2016 14:39:27.
I have 9 different sort orders available most of which have reversible ordering.0 -
As said it depends on how your programme is set up to sort. If you need to know how to do it post what you use for email, such as Gmail, outlook, etc and somebody can help you ten.
Emails contain a header so even if you receive two at apparently the same time (most unlikely!) you can still find out which was sent first as opposed to received first!0 -
Thanks, I know how to change how to sort them. My problem being is in order to be granted a day off from work I need to email them. Only one person is granted a set day off. Multiple staff have asked for the same day off and sent email at the same time..
Work are saying they will not grant the day off as they do not know who sent email first as they both have the same time and so have there arrived into the inbox alphabetically.0 -

Look at the source code of the emails. In there there are a few "Received:" headers like this.Received: from 499544-web5.moneysavingexpert.com (unknown [10.20.104.150]) by 499556-mail1.moneysavingexpert.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id BC5ED806D2 for <mail@ddress>; Wed, 2 Nov 2016 18:37:17 +0000 (GMT)The top one in each email is the one from destination email server. Compare the time stamp of both emails and bob's your uncle.
Or ask the admin of the email server whether he can see which email came first.0 -

Perfect. After sending a couple of random emails I now have a sent time, a delivered time and also a quick simple statement of how many seconds it was delivered after sending without scrolling through the code.0
