Cheque book change and no communication

If you don't like the new cheque books then continue to use the old ones. The sort code and account number are unchanged. I still have several Lloyds/TSB cheque books (as a result of the bank going mad and sending me several books at once a few years ago).
Most people write very few cheques these days. The days of cheque book and cheque guarantee card carried around in the handbag and used in shops are long gone.
Your comments about the bank not wanting people to know the correct balance of their accounts make no sense.0 -

I wonder if they still offer left handed cheque books (IIRC these were without counterfoil) along with dual language Welsh/English , Gaelic/ English and larger business style cheques.
I feel old already :rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The original complaint of the OP was concerning the lack of lined pages at the front of the cheque books with counterfoils.
I have just looked at the cheque books with counterfoils referred to in my earlier reply.
EACH OF THE CHEQUE BOOKS WITH COUNTERFOILS HAS 5 LINED SHEETS AT THE FRONT OF THE BOOK.0 -

Although I didn't know it at the time I opened my current account, NatWest do still do the 'left handed' cheque books.
I found out a few months back when in the bank applying for the mortgage. I had to sign a few papers and the lady noticed I was (like her) left handed. We chatted about it briefly and she said I could have a left handed cheque book if I wanted for my current account.
A week later the left handed cheque book (with the counterfoils and spine on the right) dropped through the letter box.
I just need to find a reason nowadays to write a cheque in order to make use of it!
