Start Rescue - car breakdown cover
Not used them yet but they were recommended in the September 2016 issue of Which magazine. Based on this I intend going to them from Auto Aid when renewal is due in December. Their 3 star cover which includes home start is only £28.79 compared with Auto Aid £40 ish. Also can go through Top Cashback for cashback.
Would be helpful to know if anyone has used them what their experience has been.

Home start and national recovery, personal cover for two people - £113.40... Ouch.
Euro breakdown cover restricted to <10yo vehicles. No, thanks.0 -

I've been using them for years.
We use them for the four cars in our household. and I think we're paying around £120 all in including homestart.
I've had to use them twice and they've been great. They sent out a recovery truck, and the vehicle was recovered (along with us) to wherever we wanted it.
I'd strongly recommend.0 -

Their car cover seems to work best, which clearly wouldn't suit a part time trader like yourself.
Who do you use that's cheaper - in the interest of sharing the info with people on here..0 -
Big thumbs up from me too. I've got the Car Cover as opposed to individual cover - have used them for a good four / five years now.
As a Fiat Coupe enthusiast, break down cover is essential! They recovered both myself and my first coupe after the engine went "bang" - the recovery truck arrived within an hour.
They also recovered my 2nd coupe and it's new owner a day or two after I sold the car (I hadn't got round to cancelling the cover). Again, truck arrived within an hour and took the car to a garage, owner to his house.
Earlier this year, they helped me when my 5 series BMW suffered an electrical malfunction, preventing it from starting. They couldn't send a truck as I was in a multi-storey car park so they arranged for a mechanic with a pick up to attend. He fixed the car at the scene and I was able to drive away.
Genuinely can't commend Start Rescue enough, they've never let me down when I needed them and it cost me very little! The App is also very good and easy to use (admittedly, I've had a fair bit of practice!).0 -

Eh? I'm not. I just own too many vehicles.Who do you use that's cheaper - in the interest of sharing the info with people on here..
AutoAid would work out cheapest - if they got their heads out of their backsides when it comes to people who aren't actually married. GEM have done us the same cover for £81.
Euro cover is a problem, though. It's either simply not available or ridiculously expensive. We used to be with ADAC, but they decided to stop covering us outside Germany for some reason they never explained.0 -

I just need the 3 Star cover for home start and national recovery on the one vehicle me and my wife share and do not need the Europe cover so for me the cost will be £28.79 against £40.68 Auto Aid renewal. As the reviews look good and Which recommended them it looks a good bet.Regards
