advice for cheap flights

I have been looking to get a flight to Almeria from anywhere in the North East, East Midlands or Manchester on the internet and teletext but have been unable to find a really good deal. I've trauled through this section to get some help but haven't found anything that useful. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some tips, or any offers (like that from the nottingham evening press around easter, that was so popular on this site)
I'm looking to go on the 1st July for two weeks (flexible on dates) hope someone can help me out
thanks

My personal approach is to find the website of the airport you want to fly to. They should have a schedule on there, from which you can find all the airlines flying to the UK from that airport. Then go to all their websites to check prices. It's always worth trying a couple of the online travel agents as well, such as https://www.airnet.co.uk and https://www.majortravel.com.
If you're going to a charter destination then it's worth comparing the price of holidays as well. When looking at prices to get to Crete this April, the cheapest flight only was just £10 cheaper than the cheapest package hol. Sometimes the package comes up cheaper than the flight only.0 -
OK, it's Sunday evening and I've got nothing better to do, so I've done the searching for you!
The Almeria website wasn't very impressive - it had a long list of airlines, but not which destinations they serve. However it did show that, of the departure airports you listed, the only one they serve is Manchester. Manchester airport website shows flights to Almeria operated by Britannia, First Choice, MyTravel, Thomas Cook and European Air Charter. Of these, only Thomas Cook had flight only availability at £99 per person including tax departing 1/7/04 for 7 or 14 nights.. This seems pretty good to me for a European peak season flight booked less than 2 weeks in advance - cheaper than what you'd found?0 -

Without doubt the best web sites are
https://www.skyscanner.net
and
https://www.opodo.co.uk
I got a flight to Spain with Opodo flying BA cheaper than Easyjet!!!Jas0 -
Excellent tips! I'm looking for a flight to Canada, skyscanner seems to only do Europe. FlightComparison found a flight 50 pounds cheaper than Opodo's cheapest - but it just tells you the website and leaves you to find suitable dates (fair enough).
Living in the UK, I often find that TrailFinders (phone them up for the best prices) beat the internet 90% of the time but the balance of power seems to be changing. They couldn't beat a flight I found on Expedia, which luckily was picked up by FlightComparison.
Airlines' own websites, especially the bigger ones, seem to give the worst prices.0 -
Do you have any contact info - phone number/ e-mail address for Trailfinders as I am looking for cheaps flights to Florida in April
Thanks
