Extractor fan for mould prevention

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could please help.
We have black mould around our bath sealant and a few tiles and have been told this is due to our existing extractor fan not working well enough.
I have been looking at the Manrose MF100S as a replacement, but the issue is that I think we ideally need a humidistat. The one that goes with the fan above is the Manrose MAN1361 Remote Humidistat and Timer Controller. However, this has mixed reviews, so I was hoping someone would be able to suggest an alternative or confirm if this one is any good. Also, is the fan above any good or are there better ones for the same sort of budget?
Many thanks in advance.

Fans are ok just cheap copy/clone of Vent Axia older model
Humidistats go faulty a lot don’t waste your time with them just make sure at the start you have a fan with an overrun and adjust the time till you have a happy medium of acceptable moisture without fan running constantly ( bugs some people )Choose a method for switching fan that means it will be on everytime bath, shower etc is used i.e on with light etc , If there is shower in room think of timer to cut down on long showers.

    Keep the fan on longer.

I've been told the advice these days is to have the over-run on for the length of time it takes to completely exchange the moist air in the room for fresh air, and that takes longer than you'd expect.

Keep the water temp a bit lower if you can, then it creates less steam.

Open windows if you have them of course.
  • I had fitted a nuaire Cyfan extractor fan a few years ago (i believe it is the most powerful fan on the market) and it has been excellent. Highly recommended.
My daughter has a continuous fan with automatic humidistat . (Mori Dmev11hr). This is also really good and decreased the condensation in her kitchen and bathroom dramatically.
I was informed they had to be fitted by a qualified electrician and building control should be notified.
    Hope this helps.
