Is there an incentive for staff to open new accounts in the Branch rather than through online banking I got the impression from a recent appointment they were quite keen for me not to do it online.

Yes. Bank staff get incentives for selling most products. If not cash they get a well done for the branch meeting targets on account opening.0

Yeah they'll probably commission, but you'll get nothing out of it. Just like when a car salesman tries to sell you the best car, and usually on finance too..0

Yes, Bank employees get incentives when they convince people to buy more products, it also helps in increasing customer base and as a result the bank achieves its target0
