Beware of some Lidl branches.... you are supposed to give them your plate number but they do not remind you and since not all of them do this you might forget.
It happened to use and we were served a 90 pound fine basically for shopping with them (a total of 36 minutes).
I managed to speak to Lidl and they said they would contact the company on our behalf. In any case, it is outrageous!

There should be an appeals approach listed on the NtK you have received. If there isn't then it's an appeal point.

Who is the operator you got the Notice from?

Best bet - as mentioned many many times - is send off the appeal in the **NEWBIES** thread for the appropriate (BPA/IPC) ATA, and simultaneously complain to the manager of that branch of Lidl, with receipts to prove custom, and ideally in front of a checkout queue full of people, and demand the ticket be cancelled for a simple oversight on your part. Ask why there aren't big signs up everywhere near the exits reminding you to input your reg. Ask why the checkout staff don't remind you automatically when they hand over your receipt.

If that doesn't work, email the Lidl CEO and try cancellation that way. There's plenty of examples of complaints to Lidl that have been cancelled on the forums if you search.

What happened when you complained to Lidl? As you would, as loads here do.

Please start by reading the NEWBIES thread near the top of this board, because Lidl use Athena who are with the IPC Trade Body - which offers an appeal service as useful as a chocolate teapot. Have a read about IPC firms. Put in an appeal in the name of the registered keeper (NOT saying who was driving as per the sticky thread, attaching a copy of the receipt.

Meanwhile email the CEO of Lidl (search this board for 'CEO Lidl' and you will find his email address as he's just changed (no long Ronny). You will see that everyone gets Lidl to cancel and the appeal is useless - will NOT work - but submit it anyway, as keeper.

    The complaint WILL WORK.

Thanks everybody! NO, there were no appeal details which is why I contacted Lidl... I apologize but I wanted to remove the message since the issue seems resolved and now I've edited it...
In all honesty I was not even aware there was a Lidl customer number. I also gave them a piece of my mind ;-)

The issue isn't resolved until the parking company say it is resolved. That's why it is important to start the appeals process in parallel to a complaint to the manager or CEO of the shop.

Don't get caught out because the manager didn't chase this up.

... and it is not a fine. It is a speculative invoice from an unregulated scam industry.

Even if Lidl get it cancelled do not go easy on them, it should not be happening anyway. Put the full facts on Twitter and Facebook. They hate that.

No appeal details on the back of a bog standard Athena PCN? Are you SURE?

We see these tedious pieces of trash all the time and you have to be allowed appeal. DO NOT say who was driving.

Thanks! You are right. Lidl CS sent my details to ATHENA (funny they act as if the "park managing co" had nothing to do with them!! ) on 1/11. On 7/11 I reminded them I had not heard from the company and they sent me this message:
    "Re: Parking Charge
Thank you for your most recent contact.
We appreciate you giving us permission to transfer your details to the Car Park Management Company.
We have now passed your information over to Athena in order for them to review your appeal. They will contact you directly in the near future regarding this matter.
Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
    Yours sincerely,
For and on behalf of Lidl UK GmbH"

So I might have to start the appeal independently... I will peruse the notice again to see if I missed their "appeal line". Will keep you posted!!

I found the "appeals" options at the back of the notice. Should I use email or the "online" form? and what facts should I state aside from the fact that I was a shopper, I have the ticket to prove it and Lidl have written to them on my behalf??
    THANKS!!

hang on , athena are in the IPC , so its almost pointless apealing

    please give more info

the car park has ANPR cameras that get you on the enterance/exit , the times on the ticket show you entering / exiting ?

    IPC grace periods

    15. Grace Periods
15.1 Drivers should be allowed a sufficient amount of time to park and read any signs so
they may make an informed decision as to whether or not to remain on the site.
15.2 Drivers should be allowed a sufficient amount of time to leave a site after a pre-paid or
permitted period of parking has expired.

you have clearly not been given a sufficient amount of time to park and read any signs

    nor have you
been allowed a sufficient amount of time to leave a site after a pre-paid or
permitted period of parking has expired.

GO to your Lidl , speak to the manager , TELL him to get it cancelled or you , and your family and facebook friends will start using ALDI ,
