I know this advice is a bit late for the OP but it might help others.
It's sensible to have separate cards for purchases and balance transfers to avoid this sort of problem.
Whenever I take out a 0% BT card, it doesn't get used for anything else. I just make minimum payments until the end of the promo period.0 -
I know the general rule of thumb is to never mix BT/purchases on most credit cards but I've used my Barclaycard Platinum credit card for both last month and next month's statement is showing as 0% interest (until the promo rates expire in Oct '18).
Whether this is based on clearing the statement by the time December's is generated I don't know.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
