UKCPS Fine - Advice needed

Hi

In August, I received a parking charge on my window after parking on private land (outside an apartment block) without a permit.

I ignored said charge and went about my life, hoping that they wouldn't track me down.

On 7th October, I received a letter from UKCPS, addressed to me - saying I had 28 days to pay the charge.

If I'm honest, because I've had the month from hell - I'd forgotten about it until this morning. I've logged on here and the advice is not to challenge because UKCPS is no longer an IPC member. But as they already have my address does this apply to me?

Any advice on whether I should ignore, contest or just pay the thing would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Donna

one might suggest asking UKCPS to offer you the independent appeal system , which by law you are required to have , no company can act without offering an appeal service , and UKCPS are banned from the IPC , so how can they?

look thru the first couple of pages (I,m busy) for other UKCPS cases , the DVLA are jumping in and getting them quoshed , there is a link to a contact at the DVLA

  • Somebody I know has a similar issue but for "Without a valid permit". The parking charge was issued a few months ago, after reading forums, they decided to ignore. I've read in the NEWBIES post that UKCPS are now banned from DVLA data.

Any advice on where to go from here?

UKCPS being banned by the DVLA *should* not affect them in cases where they already have an address. But you never know quite what is going on in the background.

Basically in both your cases I would suggest the keeper writes asking for ADR, saying they are not liable for this charge and dispute it because the signs in the car park are in small print, contrary to the Consumer Rights Act. And reminding UKCPS that ADR must now be offered for 12 months and was offered in the Notice to Keeper so you require access to it, should they not cancel the charge.

UKCPS won't be able to offer it as they are not an active member of an ATA...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If you google it it will tell you immediately. You are expected to engage in a modicum of self help here you know.
