My daughter is 24 and has recently received a higher car insurance as prices have gone up she works hard, is trying to run her own business but needs to drive to clients.
She works hard and has not had an accident, driving for 7 yrs no claims how as a mum can I help give her suggestions in a world where those who do the right things and work hard are penalised against those who don't I love my kids and have always raised them to work hard and do the right things in life.
Please any suggestions would be gratefully received.

When is she 25?
Does she have a partner, if so look at the price of adding them as it will often reduce the premium.
Also look at adding yourself to the policy as am additional driver as it may also reduce her premium0 -
Thanks she has already added her partner0

Working hard and doing the right thing has nothing to do with car insurance unfortunately.
What are her quotes for the year and what did she pay last year?
Has she shopped around and checked different insurers? 7 years no claims must count for something.
Just how high are we talking?0 -
I would really advise speaking to an insurance broker, usually better with a local one. They know how to work the system to get the premiums down and they also have direct access to some discountsPoorMoon
Cleared £15,000 debt whilst being a student full time, bought a house, all whilst working full time.... it can be done!0 -
Is she driving a high insurance group car?0

Why do you think she is penalised for working hard? Tell her to try putting unemployed down and see the premium increase substantially.
So someone else in her exact situation pays less insurance?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
We all work hard. The reward comes through earnings and self satisfaction, not through cheaper car insurance....All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0

Her rate has doubled she has shopped around, drives a standard seat leon car no accidents 7 yrs and quotes are approx. £650 to £700 per yr0

Tell her to go to one of the well known price comparison websites, fill her details in on that and then see what comes up.
If the offered premiums are considerably lower from insurers of similar stature as her existing one then she needs to start looking more seriously at alternatives. She is probably suffering from staying too long with one insurer and being taken for granted that she will renew at any price.
Looking on a price comparison web site does not commit her to buying through them.0 -
Has she told them she's a hard worker for the hard workers discount?0
