Hello. I have approached my Bank (SANTANDER) with a PPI complaint re a mortgage and endowment policy. They tell me that Aviva wrote to us telling us to complain by 2007. I have no knowledge of such letters. Any advice?

These would be the annual statements. They contained the warnings that if you wanted to complain, you had to do it by a certain date. They were repeated over multiple statements to ensure they were not missed. Although, you did have to read the statement I guess.
You have three years from being reasonably aware of an issue to make a complaint. You are about 15 years on from the start and around 7 years on from the endowment issue was largely considered to be over. with most endowments timebarred by that point. Yours was barred in 2007. So, the first warning would have been 2004.
