My PC monitor is on an arm that I have had for about 10 years. It has a flat plate that screws into the back of the monitor.

Now I need a new monitor and despite spending hours on Amzon reading till my eyes watered, I cannot find out whether these plates are universal or what.

I can take a pic of the back of the present monitor if that helps. I know the make and model of the monitor arm and the new monitor I want to buy.

Thanks to anyone who can advise.

One of the answers on the monitor page says it's Vesa 75mm standard. So if your arm has the same you'll be OK. Are the holes in a square pattern 75mm apart? Look on Wiki for the details of the Vesa standards.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Search for monitors that are vesa mountable. I think that one is as it has 4 mount screw holes.

Yes from the centre of the hole to the centre of the other is 75mm.

So I can have that superwide monitor then? Yippee.

So, Essex, do you think I could have just about any standard monitor then, or is this a bit of sheer luck?

    THANK YOU

VESA 75 or 100 are industry standard so most TVs and monitors should support one or the other but obviously best to check.

Has nothing to do with luck, just look for "VESA mountable" in the product description and/or look at the pictures. Your second link from the first post is certainly not VESA mountable.

To be honest, I could not see any reference to 75mm anything on the monitor. The specs of computer equipment just make my head swim!

Had another look at the spec and I still cannot see anything that mentions 75mm anything :-(

Have decided against that obscenely wide monitor and looking for another.

OK so I found another and finally, in the customer questions, someone asks about VESA and another customer says it's VESA 100 so I guess that means I cannot have that one, is that correct?

I still cannot find any reference to VESA 75 on any of the listings. Can anyone help me find that mentioned in the spec? Thank you so much.
