I think it depends a lot if there is copy protection on the disc.
If there is,you might not be able to copy it,if there isnt, something like nero would do it.

Can you not just copy the entire contents into a folder on your hard drive and then back it up?

A separate partition would be useful

Your origonal is scratched or dirty, try giving it a clean.
Use a lint free cloth and wipe it from the centre outwards.

If it still won't read, also try putting it in the dvd drive.

    Start nero,
You don't need to use most of these features of nero to copy your disk, just run "disc copy" from the tools menu and click the confirm wich drive your disk is in and click ok when it's finished

If there are read error either 1. the disc is protected or 2. the disc has read errors caused by damaged or scratched disc. In the case of 1. Alchol 120 may copy it (provided its a legal product) 2. in the case of scratched disc you may have to use software to read the disc and repair the damage files onto hard drive. Or try and clean the disc with a disc cleaner.

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you
  • We have had issues like this discussed before, but due to the grey area and possible legal implications of copying original software, may i ask people not to continue these discussions. We feel that there are enough other forums on the internet that do cover these issues, and we would rather not have them on MSE.

    Thanks
