Tips for selling theatre tickets at short notice?

Options
Hi all,

I have four tickets for Lion King for this Thursday but have just found out that I can no longer make it. (Gutted as they're great seats!)

Any tips for selling these at short notice from those who have been through something similar before? I'm going to try Gumtree now.

Not planning on making any profit - happy to let them go at face value. Just hoping that the website I sell them on doesn't take off a huge fee.

Thanks in advance! :)

Put them on Gumtree and also on a Facebook, if you use it.

TBH unless the show is sold out, I think you will need to list them at less that face value if you want to shift them. Otherwise potential buyers will just purchase them directly.

Will you be able to attend at another time?

From the theatre's (Ambassador Theatre Group's) terms & conditions.

"7.1 If you are unable to attend the Event through no fault of Ours, we can offer a ticket exchange facility, subject to availability, if the Event is at a Venue managed by Ambassador Theatre Group. In order to obtain an exchange you must contact us 48 hours before the Event. Ticket(s) can be exchanged for a seat of the same value or higher upon payment of the difference in value, within its current run at the same Venue and will be subject to a per ticket exchange fee of £3. If a discount has been applied to the Ticket(s), then this will only be honoured within the original terms and conditions of the offer. If the Event has been booked through us for a Promoter then an exchange may not be offered and we would refer You to the Promoter’s own terms and conditions of sale."

  • Found Gumtree is the best for me. No Fee's and seller comes to you with the cash. Worked every time for me :-)
