Value of property after exit from EU

I'll say in advance I'm aware that none of you have 'crystal balls,' and nobody can predict the future.
So I'm looking to buy a small property to let. I'm taking into consideration that the prices of property go up, and also that the UK's exit from the EU may or may not have an effect on the property market.
What are your thoughts on this? As far as we are able to rationally predict, could the market change once the exit from the EU is official?

The question is so random that literally can go anywhere. Flip a coin and you may have better chance.
Else, buy a boat and you moor it somewhere else!EU expat working in London0 -

As you yourself said "nobody can predict the future".0 -
Property is a long term thing, so over time you'll be fine.
We purchased our first flat in 88, then the bottom fell out of the market and we sold it 8 years later at an £11K loss, (after paying some of the highest interest rates we've ever had). Obviously the house we went on to buy was at the bottom of it's value as well, so when the upturn happened we rode the wave.
The question you need to ask is will the market be up from where it is now in 25 years or so.Pants0 -
There are all kinds of investments available. So you need to ask yourself why BTL? What are your aims for this investment? How long are your intending to make it?
Brexit certainly ups the risk in the BTL investment decision (but as far as I can tell hasn't increased the potential upside to compensate). But how that compares to other possibilties greatly depends upon your answers to the above questions.0 -
"There are those that don't know, and those that don't know they don't know."
Depends on type of property, and whereabouts in the country we're talking. It'll still be complete guesswork.0 -

My thoughts? Invest in funds paying USD and the Euro.0 -
Location Location Location.
Buy somewhere where new transport links are being built - new tram networks, new railway station - that should ensure your property increases in value and sustains its value whatever the national trend does in the short-term.0 -

Of course it could, just as it could if the Earth is hit by an asteroid, or if the UK is invaded by zombies - scenarios that we are able to predict with the same accuracy as we can predict what will happen after Brexit. If you want to invest in property, do it, if not, don't. And whatever you decide, don't come back here complaining in a few years time about the decision you take.0 -

Not quite sure why this question attracts the angry. If you don't want to discuss this, don't answer. I'll leave you to your zombies and asteroids.0 -
