I have a 2009 Honda Jazz to sell, it looks to be worth around £5100 its not in brilliant condition but only has 14 000 miles on it.
It also has a reg number that I think would be worth around £1600.
Its not a great one R** OSS but does seen to have a reasonable value.
Am I better selling the plate on retention or selling the car & the reg ??
Any thoughts ??
TIA

Selling separately will always be better. To command more money together, you need to find someone called Ross who is buying a Jazz and wants a private numberplate.
Separately, you are looking for anyone who wants a Honda Jazz and anyone called Ross who wants a private numberplate.
My name isn't Ross. If I wanted to buy your car and you added over £1000 to the price because it says Ross on it, I would laugh and find another.0 -
Depending on the full reg, it would appear to be worth around £500. The more expensive ones are for RO55 XXX.0

Yes £1500........0 -
One sold for £1500? So that person probably wont want another.
Your target customer has gone?

Out of interest, what was the full plate that sold for that much?0 -

The issue is that they may never sell even if the price dropped to £250.
Unless you can find genuine sold ones then its just a made up number. I value the plate on my car at £20k because if you switch them around it makes the letters of a supercar. Admittedly they are in the wrong order otherwise i would value it at £200k.
Do i ever have a hope in selling it? oh yes "NO HOPE" not even enough to cover the £80 fee. (is it still £80?)Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
