Going abroad for several months, do i need to have a legal UK address?

Hello,

I'm going abroad shortly for 4 months maybe longer.

I'm thinking about giving up my flat and moving everything into storage.

During this time do I need to have a legal UK address? For things like driving licence and bank accounts?

Not sure its something I could ask of a friend to do. I'm an EU resident.

Yes it is an offense not give dvla a new “address” etc banks depends on type of account and what services you have with them there policy for non UK residence etc The grey area is what constitutes an acceptable/legal address.

For the DVLA, you need a UK address through which you may be contacted. You don't actually have to live there. So a relative's address would be OK if you will remain in contact with them.

You'd have to ask the banks what their policy is.
