Car with no entry on Vehicle History or on MID database?

Hi

Saw a black Rolls Royce at the weekend, parked at a local shopping outlet. At first glance I thought it might be a Chrysler, with some pimping, but as I got closer I'm positive it was a genuine RR.

However when checking the MOT history, no car was found against it's plate (private), and no insurance was held on the car. Whilst I'm sad enough to check interesting cars, and any history they have, I'm not up on my RR models to be honest which doesn't help.

I guess it could have been under 3 years, in which case it wouldn't be on the MOT db, perhaps a trader could drive it without insurance?
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

Check it on the government car tax site:

    https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax

Should tell you what you want to know.

    Hi
Yes, checked this. Nothing can be found message.

Can some vehicles just be restricted from public viewing?

Has the plate been tweaked to look misinterpreted?

I don't think there are any "private" plates. There as special plate numbers for diplomatic cars, but I don't know what they'd return.

    Hi

No, it was just letter single number letter letter letter

    I guess I'll never know!

Nice car though. one I'll never be able to afford to buy, fuel or park in a car park.

Given the status of the car, could the driver be self insuring? (perhaps as part of a fleet?)

It'd still need taxed though, and presumably some record of being self insuring (as I think you need to have some minimum amount of money set aside for the liability, otherwise anyone stopped for having no insurance could just claim self insuring)

I've got the Reg, I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to share?

I meant more guess what car it was.

Up to you whether you post the number plate. I guess without an address it would mean nothing given it's on show all day every day anyway.
